North Oakland Community Charter School, Oakland

This team of teachers will engage in an immersive cultural relevancy training by Youth Outside, an organization that advances racial justice and equity by shifting resources to, building power with, and centering the voices and leadership of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. Over the course of this two-year project, Youth Outside will train the team in social & environmental justice by providing deep learning on unconscious bias, intentional communication, organizational culture, and decolonized curriculum development. This training series will allow the teachers to become leaders in equitable, justice-based teaching for their students, fellow teachers and administrators, and school community as a whole.
