LIGHT Awards Grant Recipient Michael Wong Recognized as Alameda County 2025 Teacher of the Year

Intrepid Philanthropy Foundation is thrilled to celebrate Light Awards recipient, Michael Wong, who was selected last week as the Alameda County  2025 Teacher of the Year at the 36th Annual Alameda County Teacher of the Year Awards Ceremony in Hayward. Michael is a 4th and 5th grade teacher at Paden Elementary School, in the Alameda Unified School District (AUSD).

Michael Wong was part of the  “The Power of Play” project team (2023-2025) at William G. Paden Elementary School, in Alameda, CA. Michael and his teammate, Erin Head, also facilitated a session on “The Power of Play” at our recent LIGHT Awards Convening in June.

“This award isn’t just about me. It’s about my students, my colleagues, my family, and this community that raised me. I’m proud to represent Alameda, and I’m grateful for the chance to keep paying forward the possibilities education unlocked for me.”
