Scott Lane Elementary School, Santa Clara

This team of elementary school teachers plans to expand their knowledge of best practices and structures for Dual Language Immersion (DI) programs as their site transitional bilingual program transitions to DI.

They will visit thriving DI program sites, attend trainings, engage consultants, and study the latest research on best practices in DI through peer collaboration. The team will attend the National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE) conference, and consider how to develop new lesson plans that connect to current school-wide systems. The team of teachers will serve as an advisory committee for DI teachers and administrators at their school site as they enter into this new phase for their bilingual program.
