Manzanita SEED, Oakland
We will reinvigorate SEED’s mission by designing Project-Based Learning units infused with best practices in Dual Language and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). The Units will incorporate reading, writing, math, language and anti-racism through authentic tasks and local topics. These topics will be: Indigenous traditions in the Bay Area, Asian-American movements past and present and the Black Panther Party past and present. The units will be for 3rd, 4th and 5th grades respectively. The team will develop them collectively as part of an aligned change-maker curriculum in 3-5. We hope to inspire and support the development of this work in the whole school by documenting our learning.
