Alvarado Elementary, San Francisco
The five-member special education team will attend the 2018 Assistive Technology Industry Association (AITA) Orlando Conference. The team will learn how to best utilize assistive technology to help students with a range of disabilities access the general education curriculum. After returning from the training, team members will continue to support each other, working collaboratively to teach students, teachers and paraprofessionals how to use assistive technology effectively. Together, they will remove some of the barriers that prevent students with disabilities from succeeding in school-wide initiatives such as Readers & Writers Workshop.
