Oakland International High School, Oakland
This team of six high school math teachers are seeking to improve college math readiness in their school community. With a 100% English Learner population at their school, teachers would like to learn from other educators and early college programs to adapt their program to meet new state requirements while also building their capacity as program developers, action researchers, and teacher leaders helping other educators create systemic change.
The teachers will participate in the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics Conference and collaborate with the South Los Angeles Access to Math Project. They will continually plan together, look at student work and assessments, and evaluate their progress on improving math outcomes for students.
