El Cerrito High, El Cerrito

The project will help train teachers in how to implement a more rigorous math curriculum that will better prepare students for an advanced level of math. In addition, our team will find innovative ways to develop projects that make Geometry more relatable to the real world focusing on vocational careers. We aim to get trained on how to use literacy strategies around academic language that will challenge our students conceptual and operational understanding of Geometry. Through a lens of Project Based Learning, our team hopes to transform Geometry into a course that shows students how math has multiple applications to vocational trade careers accessible to students after high school.
