The team of elementary school teachers will study with literacy advocate Lucy Calkins on how to bring rich, collaborative writing and reading workshops into their classrooms.
The team plans to attend Teacher’s College Reading and Writing Project workshops at Columbia University to learn best practices in the field and to reinvigorate their passion for reading and writing instruction. The team is excited to rethink how they focus on individual student literacy, and plan to meet consistently to check in on their workshop progress and offer peer-support as they implement their learnings.
