The team of six middle and high school music teachers will organize and take part in a twice-monthly Orchestral Methods classes. As certificated music educators, team members have had training in this area but with an emphasis in Band, rather than orchestra or strings pedagogy. In a collaborative environment, these teachers will learn from each other’s mistakes and successes and support one another. The courses will include basic pedagogy, private instruction, and music repertoire reading sessions. The team will perform together during the year and develop an “Orchestra Teacher’s Toolkit” with the intent to share with the broader professional community.
