Thurgood Marshall Academic High School, San Francisco

This team of high school English and social science teachers will integrate engaging, effective, grade-appropriate writing strategies in their curricula to create a pathway for lesson planning and instruction from 9th to 12th grade.

They will participate in Bay Area Writing Project workshops to gain new writing strategies and align instruction across classes in both English and history classes. With this vertical alignment, students will feel more empowered and prepared as they enter each new grade, and teachers will feel more confident and successful in their instruction.
