This team of science teachers from across Manteca Unified School District aims to increase their knowledge of earth science content and training as their district adopts the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). The NGSS require that all high school science teachers incorporate real-world earth science phenomena into their courses to make the science more relevant to students.

Teachers will collaborate with the WestED Making Sense of SCIENCE project to learn and implement new strategies that connect hands-on science with integrated teaching and literacy supports. They will then cap off their project with a Planet Earth Summer Institute to share out learnings with other science teachers in their district.
